Please help...my 1995 Chevy Tahoe key fob will not work right?

Ummm, try a new battery in the fob. Nearly any auto parts store will have them. And you can still stick the key in the door and unlock it the "old fashioned" way.
 
It works when it wants to, but right now it is not working. The light comes on, so I'm guessing it might not be making enough connection to work properly. The doors won't unlock or lock at all.
Is there a way to clean the connection up and make it work right without investing in a new one and having to wait for it. That would be a couple of days and I need to be able to use my truck now.
The battery is new and when the door is opened manually the alarm automatically goes off until it's disarmed with the key fob.
