Please help me!

Hey everyone.

I currently have a HTC Legend that I rooted 2 months ago using the guide on Unlockr.com @ http://theunlockr.com/2010/06/07/how-to-root-the-htc-legend/

This was my first time rooting any phone and I didn't back up anything but my phone numbers and photos/music etc.

What I want to do now is unroot it.

I have tried the unrooting guide on unlockr.com too but this hasn't worked. I have also tried googling everything I could think of to help me but to no avail.

Can somebody please help me as this is driving me mad.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

Not sure on the Legend. It's one of those nand-flash ones isn't it?

Anyway - why would you want to unroot it? All rooting does is give SU access. You don't have to use apps that require SU access. You don't have to grant apps that request it SU privs. You don't have to enter SU commands on the console.

Or are you confusing rooting with installing a custom ROM (which you traditionally need to have root access to be able to do)?

To be honest with you I'm a complete noob when it comes to rooting but I managed to root my phone using that guide and I never got around to actually putting a custom rom onto it so it was kind of pointless. Now I'm needing to return my phone to the shop and unless I unroot it the warranty will be void on it. Is there any way of unrooting it that will work? I tried loading the originall ruu with the bootloader and it wouldn't work. I tried installing ruu through HTC Sync and it wouldn't work neither.

If it's just for a return reason I wouldn't worry too much about it. To the "Average Joe" all routing would do would be install the SuperUser app. If you're that bothered, you could just remove it (with your root SU super power you now have). While rooting may void your warranty, I've yet to hear of that ever being discovered or mentioned.
