Here's what I have:
A new TV
A DVD/VCR combo
I do not have cable/satellite Just a roof mount antenna

I want to be able to record television programs so I know I have to run the antenna coax through my DVD/VCR first but then what?
If I put the TV on "video 2" I can change channels through my DVD/VCR but don't get the digital channels, just the analogs.

Can someone please explain to me how to set this all up? Maybe its not as easy as I'm hoping.....

From the cable or antenna to the dvd/vcr "in" then "out" to tv.

Your dvd/vcr needs to be digital ready in order to pass the digital signal to your tv.

Or you can buy a digital converter box and then hook it to the antenna first, then to the dvd/vcr then to the tv.

After Feb 2009, there will be no more analog channels, so connecting the VCR does not buy you much.

Time to start thinking about buying a DVD recorder with a hard drive and a Digital tuner.

If your TV has a Video out (rare this days, but possible), connect that to the VCR.
