BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!? I read this book in the fifth grade and i remember many things about it, but not the title or the author's name. It starts out with the word "Annihilation." And then it proceeds to explain the definition of it and the first historical example of it(If you've seen the movie 300 it's the scene when Leonidas and the 300 spartan soldiers are cornered below the cliff and all of them die.). The story starts after this, explaining that it is about to happen to the human race. It talks about this teenage boy who is in love with this girl whose face is half burned and yet is still the most beautiful girl he'd ever seen. His mom works for the government and when th gov. discovers the earth's impending doom they set up a plan to evacuate. The only problem, their family has spot's but the girl he loves does not and the gov. is trying not to alert the general public.So he tries to save her life and get her on these shuttles with cryogenic sleep chambers before the rest of the human race dies. I've been wanting to reread this book for a while please help.
