My boyfriend told me about this book he read in late grade school or early highschool and can't remember the name of it. The plot is basically a rich man goes on a safari. It is only him and the safari guide. The rich man's name might start with an M. The rich guy accidentally shoots and kills a drifter or some homeless guy in the desert. The rich guy just wants to bury him since no one will miss him and forget about it. The safari guide says no. The rich man takes the safari guides guns and clothes and makes him go into the desert. The rich man begins to hunt the safari guide. The safari guide lays an ambush, wounds him with a sling shot, and captures the rich guy. They go back to the city and there is a trial against the rich guy. the safari guide might be named Ben. The sheriff is starting to believe the rich guy that the safari guide is the one who shot the drifter until a doctor testifies saying no, the rich guy did it.
Don't know if it helps but the safari/tour guides gun was a hornet.
The cover of the book has a desert landscape with cracked, dry mud on it and a jeep in the horizon.
Any help would be great, I've been hunting this for over a year now.
