If I had to play one character on stage on A Midnight’s summer dream, I would choose to be Hermia because as a young women myself, I extremely admire her courage to stand up, and speak up for her own voice, in the rights of her wishes and belief. Even though she knows that she will be facing a punishment of death if she doesn’t obey her father’s will in marrying the one who she doesn’t love, Demetrius. As a young women my self, I would always stand up for my own rights, and love the one who I love, not the one who my parents love because true love doesn’t exist in that way. Hermia is the one who makes me believe that true love really exists in this world and you have to chase after for it, for true love to come true. I also admire Hermia’s braveness to elope with Lysander in the forest, leaving all the memories either bad or good behind, leaving the ones who she has been with her rest of her life behind, and hurting the ones who she loves. It is such a hard thing to do in life, but to live with and be by the side of her true love, Lysander forever, Hermia doesn’t mind to risk anything in her life to just be with him, this is what is called true love.
