remember the title or author of? The plot was about a young boy whose mother had passed and he lived in a country setting with his father and younger sister. For some reason the boy left home and on a search that took place by a river he encountered a man who could not speak because he did not have a tounge. The old man wrote his name in the sand - EZRA. I remember them encountering some indians on their trip. I believe the father was sick or hurt and they were trying to find something to heal him. Anyone that could help me with a title or author I would really appreciate it!
