I've been severely depressed since Friday over the stupidest little thing. I ate lunch, and then had me one of those Little Debbie snack cakes for dessert.

I just like to chew, and I have this bad habit of chewing on the cellophane wrapper of these snacks. I was chewing and suddenly had this sensation like something caught in my throat. I spit out the wrapper, and kept swallowing, drinking a lot of water. I could not get rid of the sensation.

I've tried several things, eating crackers, bread, hot tea, the sensation would change, but never go away completely. Thankfully, my breathing is normal, and I can eat just fine.

I just can't believe that this plastic would still be stuck in my throat after 2 days. One thought is it could be my allergies. Two years ago, I remeraber freaking out about the same thing. It turned out that my allergies caused the flap in my mouth to enlarge, and it was moving into my throat when i swalllowed giving that sensation.

I do see the flap sticking to my tongue, but I can't tell if it is the same problem. Even so, two years ago, it only lasted a day. I just don't know what to do. I lost my job so I can't run to the doctor, but the first thought I have in the morning is if this sensation is gone, and it is not.

Anyone ever had this kind of problem? What could a doctor do? I imagine that they would put a scope down my throat, but what if it was a piece of plastic stuck inteh food pipe? How could they get it out?
