I am an engineer for a big company and have a company van.
My van is managed by a fleet company, who informed me recently that I had an outstanding parking ticket that I didn't pay and therefore they paid it for me.
The fleet company now want to take the full cost of the ticket plus admin charges out of my wages.
The reason I did not pay the ticket, was because I never received one.
Normally if i get a ticket, I pay for it and can then claim it back.
I have spoken to the relevant council who issued the ticket, who seem very uninterested
as the ticket has already been paid for.
I asked them to provide me (not the fleet company) with any evidence
they have of issuing me a ticket, Photographs etc etc.
After 2 weeks of hassling them, they sent me a letter saying that the ticket was handed to the driver (me) at the time.
Now I know that is complete rubbish, and that they are lying through their teeth.
So where can I go from here??
I know the processes for appealing tickets before payment has been made,
but can't find any documentation on what to do next if it has already been paid.
