I can't sleep because it hurts so bad. The pain is in my low back/buttock and it radiates to my left hip if I lie on my sides. The pain is worse when I lie on my back. I can't get in any comfortable position to sleep. It started years ago intermittently, but now it's every night. I have little to no pain during the day. No pain while sitting. When I'm sleeping it is excruciating, but when I sit up, the pain subsides. My doctor sent me for MRI of the SI joints and was normal. The MRI detected an ovarian cyst on my right ovary plus a small fibroid in my uterus. The doctor says that wouldn't be the cause of my pain. Anybody else have pain only while sleeping, and severe pain when lying on back? My left hip hurts too when I lie on either side. What could this be? I see a rheumatologist for inflammatory arthritis but he says that's not the problem because the MRI showed no inflammation.
