ok,

i am trying to get to point A to point B by bike.

Point A is 1.08 miles away from point B; it takes 4 minutes to get there by car.

how many minutes would it take to get there by bike?

(this is not a HW question or anything. this is for real)

Come on, how fast do you drive? How fast do you ride?

Figure it out!

There are days when the expressway ties up that I can get home from work faster on the bike........

FWIW, it shouldn't take you more than the 4 minutes it does in a car..... A mile isn't very far at all on a bike.

say you can go 12 miles an hour. Than your distance wouid take you about one 12th of an hour or roughly 5 minutes.

How fast a car gets from a to b has very little bearing on how fast you bike it. Both modes of transport are highly variable in there speed. Also, why would you need to know this to the nearest 1/100?

Finally, you could simply ride it yourself faster than turning the PC on, letting it boot, getting on here, writing the question, waiting for answers, reading them, then determining if they are valid or not.

About 10 minutes. In residential areas, bikes typically take twice as long as cars to get anywhere.
