Please explain the difference between these chemistry terms !?

Definition of Electrolysis -- Chemical change, especially *decomposition*, produced in an electrolyte by an electric current.

I put some NaCl in a beaker full of pure water. The solid NaCl automatically converts to Na+ and Cl- because of the water molecules.
Now, I pass current through this thing (water with ions of NaCl) and then find that the cations migrate to cathode and anions to anode. This is electrolysis (i think so).
Ques: is the adding of NaCl to water also a part of electrolysis ? is decomposition of NaCl into ions also included in the term Electrolysis ? the above definition says it's included but i dont think so.
is there any difference between "electrolytic dissociation" and "electrolysis" ?
thanks in advance.
