The waves crash to a halt against the cold stone
A the harsh wind beats the sand,
Whipping it across the shore.
Pidgeons hover midair,
Not daring to land
On the freezing ground.
The bitter chill in the air,
Paralyses you yet even if I could move
I wouldn't dare.
I'm waiting for someone to return
And here I shall stay until they do
Staring at the horizon.
Not caring what is going on around me,
Just gazing out to sea
Praying that you will come home.
