I know I have put a couple of threads on here lately. I what a new phone . I'm headed towards a smartphone. What is worth the money. i'm not dead set on any brand. Never had a smartphone. I want good battery life, not a crazy amount of money to buy one. Any suggests or good reviews?

Ok, best GSM smartphone is probably the HTC S740...but that's expensive. The S710 is a bit less and really good. The HTC Libra is the CDMA version, and I have no clue on the price since it's not out yet.

The HTC Excalibur is nice, has WiFi but no 3G, and the price is reasonable (It's bascially the T-Mobile Dash). The Samsung Blackjack doesn't have WiFi, but works on AT&T's 3G network.

A lot depends on what you're looking for, and what carriers you're considering (and which ones are available to you).

Right now, the ultimate smartphone is the Tytn II, however the Tytn is a very good smartphone that not many have been able to catch up to in terms of specs. It's quadband GSM, and North American and European/Asian 3G capable. Plus it has a slide out QWERTY keyboard. If you like Windows Mobile and don't mind the physical size of the phone, then its the best one out there. Btw, I have no idea what carrier CBW is, so knowing the general area you live in would be helpful to giving better advice.

Both the S630 and the TyTN are good. It just depends what profile you like better. I had the S620 and I couldn't stand the keyboard, so try a T-Mobile Dash (very similar keypad to S630) and Cingular 8525 (same as TyTN) and see which you like. But for sure, in terms of connectivity its hard to beat those two. Of course, if CBW doesn't have 3G then that may not matter.

Stay away from windows based devices, they suck! Go with a blackberry! I have no idea why the US hasn't picked up on blackberry. They are so much better than everything else out there. Be sure to try one before purchasing.
