I know this is long but please take a moment to help me 
I met this guy few months ago and he's a really shy guy who doesn't really mind being single, but the past few days, I thought he was starting to like me because he started talking to me first a lot. We were really hitting it off but suddenly, we just stopped talking. I sent him a hilarious "Forever Alone" comic to start a conversation with him on fb and this is how it went:
HIM:
Teehee............frighteningly accurate
I'm scared, I have a Chinese midterm tomorrow! Need to study......can we talk tomorrow or Friday

Thanksssss. Btw, just in case you didn't know, every time I've made fun of you in the past month, I've just been joking. Nothing serious. Lol. Wasn't sure if you knew that, but i"m in the mood to get these things off my chest....so.....yeah

And I guess I looked a little mad when he teased me that day but I actually liked it. It's just that I was hurt that he didn't hear me when I called him 10 times. (I thought he ignored but I think he just didn't hear me). So I thought if I talked again, he would just ignore. And that day, after he teased me, we just stood next to each other awkwardly and I just walked away because we weren't talking or anything.
But after the last message, my heart melted and I know I really like him now!
However, after the day of the message, I saw him in band class and he was asking everyone "Are we not marching today?" and no one was sure so I answered "Yea we're not marching! yay
" and he just looked at me blankly and I said "u-um..." and turned away.
That's all that happened. When we saw each other, we didn't talk. It felt super awkward. I feel like he's annoyed and trying to avoid me but I don't know why he would suddenly. Maybe he thinks I'm ignoring him or annoyed by him but I don't want to ask him because that's so clingy and just not how high schoolers roll.
By the way, he's a junior and I'm a senior and I accept our age difference now. We're only 4 months apart and he can drive so I'm ok with that. What should I do? I like him so much that I finally got over my first love after 4 years!
