Please read this poem. I made it 1 year ago when my parents got in a fight. I'm 11 now so I wrote it when I was 10. Please tell what you think and what I can do to improve my skill of writing!!!
I waited and waited, I couldnt wait anymore
I screamed with anger, and stomped on the floor
Today was the day daddy came back
The last time I saw him was a while back
I began to worry as I layed in my bed
All curled in a ball as I sobbed with dred.
I got frightened when I heard his voice moan
Since there was no one here, I was home alone
Mommy was working, it wasnt very far
Hopefully she was soon leaving, and starting her car
He came in with a smile on his big bold face
And when I saw him I ran towards him at a very swift pace
He was happy and amazed, he did a glad jig
Oh Boy! Youve grown! Youve gotton so big!
My happiness faded as I remembered the past
And I just knew that this was to good to last.
I missed when mommy and daddy got along
When they kissed and hugged, it made there love strong
Since the day mom sold the house
And dad went his way
I couldnt stop crying, not for a single day.
Mom said change was good, but I thought opposite
Never did I agree not a single bit.
I then said, Daddy, why did you have to go?
I missed when we where a family, it made me feel special.
Im sorry I was mean, I was the reason for my problem
Thats ok honey, your still my little blossom.
He looked at me, eye to eye as he took my hand and started to cry
Even though we are far apart, you will always be in my heart.
Dont worry, dont cry, ill always be here
You just have to call, and I will soon appear.
Darling, I love you, now dont you be sad
Remember all the precious memories we had?
The time you and I made those cupcakes
burned all twenty?
And all the fun crafts we used to make
And how there where plenty?
Dont worry, sweety. I miss you, too.
I better get going, It will be dark soon.
Ill tell you what. I will visit you eachday
And ill move back in, if mommy lets me stay
a smile lit up on me as I gave him a kiss
I quickly called mommy to beg her for this
She then forgave daddy and if only still to this day,
Does daddy love mommy the same exact way.
I felt moist on my face and sand in my eye
And that very moment I noticed why
The love I was feeling was just a dream
And everything Dad said he didnt really mean.
If only for one day I could remember the days
When daddy loved mommy in so many ways.
