**please advise!!**

I need some advise.....I have been taking suboxone and provigil for some time now and yesterday I called the pharmacy to see when I could pick up my refill because we are leaving for the Thanksgiving Holiday next week...my last refill was on the 20th. And I was hoping to pick them up on the 15th when we leave....but here is the deal. I guess I caused an issue because last month I had the ins co & dr grant me an early refill cause we took our 2 week vac in oct. So now the pharmacy called my dr and told him that I am taking too much and running out early!! That is so NOT the case! I am pissed! I guess because of the meRAB I am taking the pharmacy is treating me like crap! I cant get them to listen to me so that i can explain...I wasn
 
its the nature of the beast that us addicts have to live by and put up with.nothing you or i can do about it,we are at their mercy to say the least.i will tell you this,no matter what the situation may be,vacation,death in family,whatever,us addicts cannot,cannot go and try to get any narcotic meRAB filled or refilled early.they will call your dr and insurance company each and every time.what you need to do and should have done by now is start saving some of your meRAB up just for such occasions.dont say it cant be done because it can,especially with suboxone.no matter what you tell your dr or pharmacist they are not going to believe you.you are lucky you are not dropped from the program completely.like i said,NATURE OF THE BEAST US ADDICTS HAVE TO PUT UP WITH AND LIVE WITH.
 
I agree with the second poster.

Here's the thing. When you use "vacation" with the pharmacy, it's a red flag. EVERYONE and their cousin uses "vacation" as an excuse to get their meRAB early.

SORRY, I am not accusing you, just telling you the way it is. See, you stated you needed meRAB early last time due to a "vacation" and now, you are going on yet another "vacation" and need it early (please forgive me if I read it wrong).

If this is the case, you should bring in your tickets or planner or better yet, take pics with you to the pharmacy and show them you did actually go on vacation.

Again, forgive me but you did ask for advice...... If you are NOT early, then you really shouldn't need your meRAB till the 20th.....can you work something out with the pharmacy, see if they have a partner pharmacy to dispense your meRAB at the vacation destination.

I live in Richmond Hill, Ontario, Canada and while on vacation in Orlando, I had my methadone clinic transfer my script to a clinic in florida to handle my meRAB.


Sorry, I re read it and you said you were not asking to get it early, you wanted to know when it was ready...so you didnt make a mistake but if you are taking them correctly, you would know when your supply enRAB.

They (the pharmacists) are there to protect YOU. And sometimes, that protection and saving is from OURSELVES.
