I am writing a paper for school. In a case a kid plead guilty to a crime to get a lesser sentence, So I am assuming this is a sentence bargain. his co-defendent received 6 mos probation and the maximum sentence was a year in prison with a 25,000$ fine. Is the sentence that will be given told to the defense when they make a sentence bargain? bc the judge said he had no obligation to give the defendent probation.
