Plays with great scenes?

Trying to put together some ideas for a theater showcase, a large group from ages 9 to 90 will be participating, and would really like to be able to show a smattering of great monologues and scenes that represent different eras in theater history.

We already have more than enough people considering Shakespeare, looking for other ideas to toss out at people so it doesn't become a showcase of Shakespeare (which would be great too, but not what we're going for).

Some things people are toying with doing scenes from:
Our Town
Night Mother
Lysistrata
Death of a Salesman
Inherit the Wind
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
Brighton Beach Memoires

We are looking for things we could do that wouldn't require elaborate sets or lots of props-- we'll have a very generic background.

Anyone have any ideas of what might be a crowd pleaser?

Oh, and no musicals please, if we do include them we already know which ones we want to do.

Thanks... looking forward to responses from fellow theater lovers!
