Play my iPod in my 06 Mazda 5?

The car comes with the "basic" stereo. It has a six disc changer and the radio, but nothing else. I'm looking for a way to plug my iPod into it. I'm not a huge fan of the FM radio tuners. Is it possible for them to just put a cassette deck in there? In the manual I see that it is one of the options. Or would it be easier to just get an AUX adapter put in? And where would be a good place to get this all done? Radio Shack?
 
If you are totally against the FM transmitter; Radio shack is NOT going to help you! Check you yellow pages, for a alarm/radio instalation business in your area. You can even check out a BestBuy in your area to do everything for you. Good Luck!
