There's always a way to listen to your iPod in ANY car! If the car comes with sync it may be able to connect, but thats a Microsoft product talking to an apple product...might not work. Like another person said, if there's an "input" jack all you need is a 3.5mm (standard headphone jack) audio cord with male jacks on either end. Otherwise you'll need to get an FM transmitter (your friend's piece of crap). With a little fine tuning (choosing the right station) you'll get decent sound, though not award winning. If you've got the money to spare, look into an after market stereo with iPod capabilities, I recommend http://www.crutchfield.com/ for information and purchasing.
Also if you call Crutchfield they may be able to help you connect your iPod to your stock stereo!
