Play Games In windows 7?

i want to change OS to windows 7 , i like playing games (more and more time spending), is that best for windows 7 for games, and i want direct 10 or 11, where can i download them. i have all configuration for games including graphics card. so nothing problem in hardware. i want better running performance, i have 2gb ram and 1gb graphics memory
