This past week, I either had the the flu or a flu like virus which made me the sickest I've ever been in my life. The symptoms I had were extreme head aches, upset stomach, loss of appetite, aches and pain everywhere, and a fever that at times went up to 104. During this time, the dr's office did blood tests on me. The first one was done during the worst time of the illness, my platelet count was reduced causing concern. The second test done about 2 days later, my count went down further. All other indicators were normal but platelets. They want to run another test on Monday (today is Sat) I now feel 100% again, however after this call about my platelets, I'm worried. Could my platelets have been reduced because of the severity of my viral infection?
I also would like to add, I've never had trouble with bleeding, bruising. I eat right, exercise. I'm an athlete, and complete in many levels.
