I have a 50 inch approx. Philips plasma screen TV model "FTR 9965 Flat TV". It is quite old and it cost a true fortune at the time. Recently, when we turned it on, the backlight in the screen was going all wonky for a few seconds before coming right. But now when we turn it on, we get the red power LED flashing repeatedly with a black screen. I managed to get it to go again by turning it off at the wall for 30 mins or so, but when i turned it on, the backlight was going all funky and dimming and lighting again for a few minutes. It is now stable but this has happened before.
What would be causing this problem, it is extremely annoying and i hope i dont have to replace the whole TV.
