(T-mobile G1)I was wondering once i root if i will lose all my paid apps i purchased in the market place. I also have apps that i believe are tied to the phone like for example imobsters or cardio-trainer. Will i not be able to transfer the data or continue using the app with my progress. Another concern is if I were to get an OTA update from T-mobile will that affect the root? I search for these answers but I found mixed conclusions.

no you wont lose your paid apps. once you sign into your google account, your paid apps will sync into the downloads folder of the market. so will the other apps that you had installed(for a limited time). your paid apps will always be there. for saving data, bookmarks,and etc, there are free and paid apps in the market that do that.oh, after rooting and installing a custom rom, you wont ever get an ota update ever again. youll have to manually update, which is better because it will be way before an official ota comes out.
 
Your paid apps are tied to your gmail account, when you sign back in you will be able to redownload them. Your other apps, free, will need to be backed up. Astro from the market does a good job of this. If your data is stored on the sd card you can back it up to your desktop and once you are rooted move it back.
