Plan needed for Motorola backflip?

my family has the unlimited txting plan and we have minutes to (not unlimited)...my dad has a 30$ data plan but I want the backflip what do i do...will the unlimited work?
 
You would also require to purchase the $30 unlimited data plan as well because it is not shared. You'll still have to carry the text plan as well. Expensive......yes
