I don't know when it opens in the UK, but when it does, make sure you see it. It's not just the best animated film of the year, it's likely also the best film, period.
If the 3D version of it is shown anywhere accessible, go see it that way. In the past, 3D hasn't been worth it (or sometimes even detracted from a film), but that's not the case with this one. But if you can't see it in 3D, still see it--the primary strength of the movie is the storytelling, not the technology.
If you saw and enjoyed Wall-E, then UP will appeal to you too. But in my opinion, it's even better than Wall-E. Human, warm and pardon the pun... uplifting. The first few minutes of UP may, in fact, be one of the most heartfelt and touching things ever put on film.
