Ping Jill..... about that broken oven

Hope you got your oven fixed without too much expense. But dang it....
did you have to start a trend? My lower element burned out yesterday
morning.
It was bad timing. My son was home for the weekend and was going to bake
some nice healthy muffins for brunch. He had the ingredients all ready
to go and when he turned on the oven to pre heat the lower burner
started flaming and arming.

In this case, there was no doubt that the burner was shot. I lucked out
at the local hardware. They had one element with the same size and shape
and said it would fit a Maytag. One screw holding the bracket on each
side, slip it out, pull off the quick connect. It took less than 5 minutes.

Wow, Dave, I'm sorry to have started a trend! I still don't have an oven.
I did suspect the heating element and that turned out to be the case. It's
a 24 year old oven so it was only a matter of time. He determined the oven
thermostat needs to be replaced, too. He ordered the parts but he can't get
back here until March 8th. I wasn't comfortable enough to attempt this
repair myself. Computers I can deal with, ovens... no.

What a dipshit. You can buy a stove for 500 bucks. You remind me of
the dumbfucks in the old days that had the old console television sets
and had the repairman over every other day to tinker.

So, did you figure out how to feed yourself without an oven yet?
