I was a ballet dancer for 10 years and now 13 years later and still dealing with certain "injuries". I have a terrible pain in my right ribs. It's like bubbles of gas that shoot straight to my nipple from the outside of my breast and carrying a purse or bag on the opposite shoulder pulls the ribs and they shift increasing the pain. "Pushing" i.e., pushing a weight or push ups aggravates it. Carrying a bag in my left hand aggravates it. Doing an upper back bend in ballet with my right arm extended above my head is the worst. Those ribs won't expand at all and pinch to the point I feel like Im getting stabbed. I've been told I'm hyper mobile and need to just strengthen. Which I have been doing for over 6 months now. But the pain will not permit me to dance, which is all I want to do. A phsyiatrist siad I have costochondritis, but it doesn't really match the bubbles/hypermobility and pinching pain in a very specific rib area. Any ideas? The upper rib near my breast bone protrudes always. Sticks out more when it's gotten "dislocated". He checked and nothing is fractured so far. Any other suggestions?
