becasue of the way the nerves run to the muscles and this covering that is surrounding every single muscle and organ in our bodies called 'fascia' you can have a problem just about anywhere that could conceivably cause you another problem in a totally different area. its that fascia and the fact that it is all one huge spiderweb like interconnected sheet that litterally runs from head to toes on the inside of our bodies. but given what your chiro told you,the anterior spasms would make sense. there are areas that every nerve just innervates too that run to what are called "dermatomes"? this is an area that a specific spinal nerve actually innervates. it is not all that uncommon to have what you have going on from 'just' hernations within the c spine.

what i am wondering is if you actually had at least an X ray from this guy before he even layed hanRAB on you? getting an MRI REALLY would be what is needed next given what you already have been told about the c spine problems. while x rays are great at looking at the boney structures, they simply cannot actually see into the spinal area down to the actual spinal nerves and the cord itself to see just what is actually being affected. that requires an MRI to do. you just really do need to know what it is you are dealing with before you let anymore adjustments be made on what your chiro basically cannot really see. there are just some particular issues and situations where actually being adjusted can make the situation much worse for you and place certain important nerves and also the cord itslef in jeopardy. you just really need that MRI to know for certain.

when i had my herniated disc up at the c 6-7,believe me,just 'sitting" could bring on alot of problems for me and also cause me spasms too. muscle spasms just happen when a particular spinal nerve to the muscle it innervates get inflammed or angry for some reason. they probably wont stop til you find out what is wrong and see what can be done to at least reduce that level of inflammation.

also just doing what you do for a living really can cause alot of vibration and jostling around inside out bodies. i have family that all drive OTR and believe me,just sitting in the cab of a semi that is not actually carrying a load, wow,i probably lost some weight with all the dang vibrating/bouncing that was goin in in there. i know how bad that can get,and it would not help your particular situation either.

just obtaining that MRI would give you more solid info to work with and most liekly show the bigger issues you have and how they are affecting your spinal cord and spinal nerves. thats the area that you just need to see,not just the column from the outside, that only would show a herniation and not what is going on as a result of it on the inside, where those nerves and cord are. an MRI in your case,is just simpkly needed at this point. hopefully whatever the bigger issues are will show up and can be dealt with, maybe even with just a good therepist. but you just do need to know first what the problems are inside, and more importanly, any true risks to you, espescially while having chiro adjustments. good luck to you and pleae let me know what you find out,K?Marcia
