for now, and at the very least til you simply KNOW what just IS creating this for you, please stay the heck away from any actual chiro adjustments. right now, that chiro is merely 'guessing" here at 'possibles with no real hard evidence that he is even remotely right in anything that he has actually told you(but actually "adjusting" things anyways?). what you need really in order to fully see down thru that spinal column and into the area where the real herniations have the most impact and to see if ANY of your actual nerve roots are even being impacted/compressed in any way would be with only a good and contrasted type of MRI scan. this would simply show everything within the column and down to that very important cord level too.
are you haveing ANY other actual symptoms esp anything that appears to either be running from that c spine and down thru that arm to your hanRAB/ fingers or simply anything at all not the norm showing up IN any of your fingers at this point? just some possible symptoms you can have when the lowert c spine is impacted in some ways.
exactly what does that 'pain' really feel like to you? aching, throbbing, radiating down or upwarRAB, sharp, dull.....? and more importantly just exactly 'where' is it located within the arm? these questions are just kind of important to be answered here. but either way, i would NOT go back to any chiro when there are unDxed underlying potential for c spine problems that have yet to fully be indentified since there just are certain types of possible findings that one can actually have going on up in the c spine that just CAN be made much worse with what are very basically pretty much 'blind adjustments' made by any chiro, esp if he has not even bothered to actually do even a basic c spine series x ray either? he just has no real clue at all at this point as to what the overall conditon of your particular basic spinal structure within that whole column even is like right now either? this just IS in YOUR best interest right now at least until you actually have had that contrasted MRI done that would at least allow a good neurosurgeon to tell you whther or not 'your' possible findings would or could even be made better or worse by chiro adjustments. and it really does not appear that he is actually really doing anything good for you anyways so far?
just get that c spine much more deeply looked into here for the reason for the pain and the 'knots' to also be there too? those are just more than likely what are called trigger points? those do become created by nerves that are inflammed over a longer period of time(and firing off to the innervated muscles) that occur when there is 'something" underlying, usually within that spinal level that are constantly generating the 'angry infllammed signals to them. something is simply inflammed within more than likely that c spine area that is constantly generating inflammatory signals to muscle. it just creates an overall tightening effect surrounding/and also running thru them too, the muscles up there. and hopefully a good contrasted MRI will actually show just what that inflammation is actually stemming from within the c spine level itself. this type of test would hopefully either rule something in as a true solid finding that then would be given the most appropriate types of treatment options. but you just have to find out what that generator actually is first. just see your primary doc and he or she can refer you for that needed MRI. i do wish you luck with this and hope they can see that main reason for your pain upon that one MRI being done. please let me know what you find out,K? marcia
