I think PT gave me a pinched nerve. I'm 4 months post op 360 fusion and was told to start pt. This is the third week and last night they really stretched out my legs. Today when I woke up, my outer part of my thigh was aching me and I developed a burning, stabbing feeling in my upper thigh near my groin. Do you think this is what it could be? Even when resting my leg it hurts. What can I do about it?
Should I go back to PT tomorrow as scheduled? Thanks Linda

Ouch! That's not the purpose of therapy-to make you hurt. Personally, I would go back to PT and tell them what happened and how you feel. They may be able to take care of this discomfort that they managed to find for you.

Good luck! and keep us posted..

I have another session tonight and I have no problem telling that they hurt me. This morning it has calmed down a little but I can still feel it. One more session like the last one and I will be calling my doctor.

Ask your Physiotherapist to check to see if your piriformis muscle is tender, knotted or spasmed. Pain into the groin, buttock area can be due to piriformis syndrome where the sciatic nerve runs past it.
Massage and exercise directly targeting the muscle can be effective treatment BUT it can hurt ! !
Take care,
Helen
