I fell in the ice in Feb and I am in agony. I have a protruding disc into the nerve in my lower back. I have had no effective therapy or help. Can someone share please their own experience. I have so much pain and it is getting worse. Any meRAB or Physical Therapy to recommend?

First you need to have a comprehensive examination by your primary care physician and then an MRI. Then have the MRI results compared with your symptoms and an examination with an orthopedic spine surgeon and/or neurosurgeon. It's' not that surgery is needed, but NS and OSS can give you a non surgical plan of action as well. They are the experts on disc issues in the spine.

Hi-
Yes i had an MRI and i have a protruding disk pressing on the nerve. I can't get any relief now for 2 months. I haven't had any Ptherapy other than, "lay down on an ice pack and try this excercise." I have read the injections are ineffective. I am in search of a chiropractor now. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Do not see a chiropractor until you've had an exam and consultation with an orthopedic spine surgeon and/or neurosurgeon. In cases of a protruding disc causing significant nerve impingement, a chiropractor can do more harm than good. Only see a chiropractor if an orthopedic spine surgeon and/ or neurosurgeon agree it's a viable option.

If the nerve is severly impinged by the disc you are correct that epidural steroid injections will not help. ESI only work when there is a possibility that they can decrease inflamation or reduce disc contact with the nerve.
