Picture of incoming call??

I set a picture of my wife on the contacts.
But when she calls me her pic. does not show up on screen.
Is it suppose to ?
Or is there a settings I missed ?
 
Any photo I had attributed in gmail for a contact has shown up. They were all there before I ever had the phone though, have you done it manually through gmail itself yet? if so did that not work?
 
I really dont use Gmail. I have always used yahoo
just signed up so i can use phone.
are the pics showing up when u get an incoming call ??
 
Just a thought but does the caller ID show the right thing? It may be that you entered the contacts phone number in 7 digit format and the call comes in with the Area Code in front of it.

Check to see if the contact was entered in 10 digit format.
 
ok im new to this but i have a quick question is there any way to save the apps we download to our memory card? or do we use the phones memory?
if there is can someone please help?
 
i think you can do it with in the phone by clicking menu while you have a contact highlighted and click edit contact, then add icon.

other then that and doing it in gmail, I don't know what ever options there would be, since I don't use anyother mail
 
I've noticed that I see the default android icon while the phone is ringing, then I see the contact's picture once I answer the phone (or the other person answer's, whoever is calling).

I set the photo by taking a picture of the person and setting it as the contact's photo. Is there a better way to do that?
 
Sorry to resurrect a thread from the dead but I am new to smart phones.
I had sync cut off to save battery life.
shookyang saved me a lot of search time on the web with this simple solution.

A picture on caller id is a cuddle able feature. I hv set my moms, dads, sisters and hubby?s pictures. All work fun. But sometime I find problem in my hubby?s picture display, is it due to that he travels a lot and visit far flung areas? It happens at times, when I receive his call from an alien place can?t see him, that makes me miss him even more.
