On a touchdown attempy, a 85kg running back runs toward the end zone at 4.25 m/s. A 105kg linebacker moving at 3.10 m/s meets the runner in a head on collision. The two players stick together after the collision.
What is the velocity of the players immediately after the collision?
Would they go towards the end zone, away from the end zone, or stay at rest?
Also what would be the change in kinetic energies of the system. Indicate whether this is an increase, decrease, or if the energy stays the same.
im not really understanding how to find the change in kinetic energy though, i know it would decrease but how would i find the number?
