Here is a question I require assistance help with:
Two tuning forks are sounded together. One is unknown, the other is 300hz. They produce 3 beats per second. The unknown fork can be either 303 or 297 hz.
The unknown fork is slowed using wax. The number of beats decreases to 1. what is the frequency of the unknown fork before the wax? What are the possible new frequencies of the fork with wax?

I think that the unknown fork must be 303hz, and the possible frequency of the unknown fork with wax added is 299hz. Therefore, the wax slows the fork 4hz.

Any insight on if my answers are right or wrong?

Thanks!
