A monkey named Ivan is sitting in a tree high up in the upper levels of the forest canopy (20 m off the ground) . Ivan can travel in a U shaped trajectory from one tree to the next covering a range of 7 m with one arm swing. Ivan launches himself horizontally. It takes him 1.25s to complete this swing.

1. What is the average horizontal speed of the monkey during this swing from tree to tree?

2. How far down does Ivan drop during this swing?

3. Ivan has a friend who has found a bunch of bananas in a tree 17m off the ground and directly below Ivan. This friend wants to throw Ivan one of his bananas. At what speed and trajectory should the friend throw the banana in order for Ivan to catch it at the bottom of his arm swing? Assume that Ivan begins his swing at the exact moment the banana is thrown.

Thanks.
