Physics: Point Charges in Electric Fields?

At some instant the velocity components of an electron moving between two charged parallel plates are vx = 1.40 x10^5 m/s and vy = 2.00x10^3 m/s. Suppose that the electric field between the plates is given by E = (150 N/C) j. The electron's acceleration in the field is -2.65x10^13 m/s j.

What is the electron's velocity in the i and j direction when its x coordinate has changed by 4.7 cm?

I know that in the x direction the velocity must be constant but how would I go about finding the velocity in the y direction...i tried constant acceleration kinematics equations but can't seem to get the right answer. I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank You.
