Physics models homework ideas, not answers!?

We've been asked to choose a 'key idea in science (physics) and describe or explain processes or phenomena, logically and in detail making use of abstract ideas and models from different areas of science.

any ideas of a topic to write about, and maybe some of the models to include (the focus is on models)? the question is just a bit vague and i don't really know any of the 'key ideas' of science.
