A mass of 0.80 kg is given an initial velocity, vi of 1.2ms^-1 to the right and collides with a light spring of force constant K=50Nm^-1. If a constant force of friction acts between the block and the surface with µ=0.5 and if the speed of the block just as it collides with the spring is 1.2ms^-1 , what is the maximum compression in the spring?
