1.Show how a Pascal is equivalent to kg m sec2
2.Will a plastic box filled with tennis ball sink deeper into the H20 than an empty plastic box of the same size and shape.Explain.
 
1. P = F/A
where P = pressure, F = force, A = surface area

base units of LHS must be equal to RHS if the equation is dimensionally consistent, so:

base units of RHS = (kg X m s^-2) / m^2 = kg m^-1 s^-2
(force = mass X acceleration; surface area = m^2)

2. I think so because weight of filled box is greater than empty box so it should sink lower. Might be linked to upthrust and archimede's principle (bouyant force = weight)
