A 65 kg woman descends in an elevator that briefly accelerates at .20g downward when leaving a floor. She stands on a scale that reads in kg.
(A) During acceleration, what is her weight and what does the scale read?
(B) what dose the scale read when the elevator descends at 2.0 m/s?
----
Could you please provide steps on how to complete this problem.
Also, for (A) they have: mg-Fn = m(.20g)
and then they solve for Fn, that equals .80mg
Why?
Thank you very much.
I don't understand how the mg-.2mg = .8mg.
Why is does mg = 1?
