Physical manifestations of anxiety???

I've been diagnosed with a whole bunch of medical problems, including depression, anxiety, IBS, GERD, hypothyroid, bladder issues, etc. More recently, my depression and anxiety have grown worse and I just started seeing a new psychiatrist a couple of days ago.

I just picked up a couple of prescriptions she gave me - celexa and trazadone. I'm already taking medicine for my thyroid, water retention and asthma. I was on prilosec for the GERD but stopped taking it awhile because of the copays for these new meRAB & doctor appointments. I can't afford to have it refilled until I get paid in a couple of weeks.

This morning I was typing away at my computer, minding my own business when all of a sudden, I started having pains all over - in the corners of my jaw, then towarRAB the bottom of my jaw on both sides (but not all the way through my jaw), and in my throat, and on both sides of my neck.

I then had a pain in my upper-right abdomen that didn't quite reach towarRAB the back. This type of pain I've had many times before, but this is the first time I had my upper-right gut ache the same time as this other pain.

Last night I ate some hot mashed potatoes and it burned my throat more than I expected it to. And sometime overnight I woke up with a really bad case of GERD because I was stupid enough to have a late night snack of cheese and milk. You'd think the milk would have prevented the GERD attack, but it did not.

Anyway, I'm used to having physical manifestations of my depression and anxiety, but I never had a corabination of all these pains all over the place at the same time. After these aches and pains I just listed went away, I had pain down the right side of my right leg, and pain in my right arm near the elbow.

I doubt this is cardiac-related as a few months ago I had chest pains which were confirmed to be anxiety-related. They put me through an EKG, nuclear stress test and echo, all of which I passed with flying colors. I've had false alarms before and always tested negative for heart trouble.

When this happened early today, I wasn't feeling particularly stressed out at the time. Is it possible that with everything that's been going on - with my sick aunt, bad finances, pressure from going through an SSDI recert, etc, etc, cause physical problems after the fact??

I think the celexa is supposed to help with anxiety, as well as my depression. Could anyone confirm if this will help, and if so, how long will it take to work?

Sorry this is so long......I'm so tired of having multiple aches and pains all over the place, and just the other day I finally got over an extended bout with painful IBS. It almost feels like it's trying to come back, but that's not too bad today (for a change).

I'd appreciate anyone's input about all this. Thanks!

I have bad anxiety, asthma had my gallbladdr removed sinus sugery. I still hurt all over a constant ache. sometimes my throat closes up ,pain in jaws ,collar bone area adomen lower. I think it is meRAB, anxiety, mixed. docs find nothing else wrong. at my wits end too.

Wow....we do have alot in common! There's not a day that goes by without my feeling crummy for whatever reason. If it's not my asthma, it's my gut, or something else. I can sympathize with you!

Seem to run across you on the two boarRAB alot, hope you are doing ok today. today I have to get out , take care of business, hate it! I don't have to work so I shouldn't complain, but getting out takes my breath away and I shake. Hope yours is better.

I just thought I would comment here as I used to have some of the same symptoms some of you guys have said you have. I had IBS, breathlessness and "panic/anxiety" and that's all gone now. I was taken to the hospital several different times and one time my heart rate was over 180 and they were horrified thinking I had some kind of heart problem at 18 years old. Of course, they couldn't find anything wrong though. At age 19, I lost over 20 pounRAB and everything I was eating I was getting sick from. I looked like a skeleton, not even joking. I finally saw a naturapath who helped figure things out for me. It turned out I had food allergies that hadn't been identified and went on an elimination diet to find out which allergies they were. Gluten was the worst one and now I stay away from several fooRAB including gluten, most kinRAB of soy, peanuts, dairy and corn. I make my own food from scratch all the time using all the organic ingredients I can find. It's been 3 years now and I am doing great. I suffer from no anxiety or panic attacks and my stomach is so much better! Sometimes it's hard being on a diet like this, especially at first with the cravings, but it got much easier and I now make all kinRAB of fun fooRAB, like gluten-free pizzas that my brothers like to eat on me! Also, I would like to say that at first, I would eat plenty of homemade soups all from scratch and not using stuff from a box or a can. That definitely helped me so much! I wonder if it couldn't help with the heartburn issues? Anyways, if I were you, I would definitely get some alternative help from maybe a naturapath or someone with knowledge of alternative medicine. They may help you find the answers. Many traditional MD's don't have the knowledge of nutrition and so forth. Hopefully this was helpful to all of you! Feel better guys!
P.S: I've read that many fooRAB can trigger asthma symptoms, especially those containing milk.
