Physic car safety thickness of barriers?

Highway safety engineers build soft barriers,so that cars hitting them slow down at a ssafe rate. A person wearing a belt can withstand an acceleration of -3.0x10to the seond power m/sto the second power. How thick should the barriers be to safely stop a car that hits a barrier at 110 km/h?
omg can't figure it honestly ain't a slacker this is over my head
this what i got figured
velocity= rate of change of position
acceration= rate of velocity with respect to time
idk where to go from there.....
