PHP Register and Login System?

There are hundreds of them. It kind of depends on what you are wanting people to do once they're logged in. There are free forums like InvisionFree and phpBB, and there are free whole content management systems, like Drupal and Joomla.

Additionally, it's not that difficult to code yourself, and there are a variety of tutorials available on the web.
 
I'm after a system in which you can register users and users can log in. The system would have to be PHP and SQL. Is there any ideas of a simple but FREE system on the internet?
