I have had many attempts at making a good line art over a scanned drawing of mine. I've worked with the levels and channels to make the line art, but the drawing remains a little messy from paper eraser stains, and sometimes the lines aren't smooth. Making the scanned drawing a light color and going over it with the brush isn't always very accurate with my fidgety hand.
Also, I've tried many techniques such as "multiply" and erasing the marks, but I would be days erasing the blotches and making the lines smooth. Aside from photoshop, I have the other adobe editing programs such as illustrator, where I tried doing a live trace, but yet again, the lines remain jagged and ugly. If I could just get the line art right, my drawings would look a lot better. I am much better coloring and shading than drawing the line art, which usually comes before the coloring =[

I would appreciate it if you knowledgeable readers and photoshop users would share your opinions on making smooth and clean line art, and if possible, a tutorial illustrating the methods. I have tried many things, and if you can offer advice on how I can improve those mentioned strategies, it would help just as much! As long as the resulting line art is beautiful, and clean, I would patiently dedicate any time necessary! I understand photoshop is a powerful program, and I love learning its many different functions. Thanks for taking the time to read my question.
