Photoshop layers menu has disappeared?

Hi
I'm pretty new to photoshop but I was just wondering how I get my 'layers' menu back.
It used to come up automatically on startup, but I can't seem to find it anymore. I've looked through the 'layers' tab at the top of the page but I can't find a way to make it reappear.
I'm meaning the menu which allows you to fade + lock things etc., just for clarity :)
How can I find it?

There is no 'toolbars' option in my 'view' menu...
 
Press F7.
Or alternatively, click "Window" at the top, and check 'layers'. There are lots of other menus available here too that you will probably use when you get more advanced.

Look on the "view" menu at the top and go onto toolbars and then click "layers"
