NEED HELP!

I have Adobe Photoshop CS. All of my brushes will only paint in white. I am using RGB color, 8 bit. I reset photoshop's settings to the factory default. When I select Art History Brush and select "Color Dynamics" from the brush tools, "Foregrounds/Background Jitter" is completely grayed out. When I attempt to change the brush using the regular foreground/background color in the base tool menu, it remains white.
I have no idea what is going on. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, mode is on "normal" and opacity is set at 100%.
