Photoshop action/script question?

I recently wrote an action in Photoshop CS3 that will resize my photo, sharpen it, add a border and my logo so that I can batch process for my blog. The problem is that I had to write one for landscape photos and one for portrait orientated photos. Essentially I have to run the action twice, one for landscape and one for portrait due to the different widths.

Is it possible to have one action or script "understand" the orientation of the image and make the appropriate action??
