I'm currently living in a rent house and want to utilize one of the upstairs bedrooms as a small studio (12X12) room - problem is, it's carpeted and obviously I need a hard floor for my seamless paper backdrops - any suggestions of what I can put on top of the carpet with stability for clients to stand on and is attractive?

My husband suggested plywood covered with wood laminate flooring so there is one option - was just wondering if others had run in too this problem before and had some creative ideas.
Thanks!

Your husband is right.

I tore out all my carpeting in my old home and installed wooden floors throughout except where I had tile. Now I have four studio set ups in it, with kitchen and two baths ... much less expensive than leasing an industrial suite.

Your husband has what sounds like the best Idea to me. Are there more creative options? Certainly, however, as far as ease of use, installation, & (don't forget that you're renting, you don't want to do anything too permanent) removal. You could use tiles & paint each one individually If you're looking for something very personalized. That may get to be a bit pricey though, depending upon the type you use.
